Marie Louise
In February of 2012, while going crazy wanting French Fashion dolls, I decided that I would finally actually follow up on one of the dreams I've had for a really long time, which was to learn to make porcelain dolls. The goal is to make my own French Fashion dolls, but before delving in to that, I started with a slightly simpler (for example, no eye cut-outs!) style of doll; a china head.

For my first doll, I chose "Marie Louise," a reproduction of an 1860s china head doll, from a Seeley mold (#S628). She is around 19" tall, and has yet to be clothed! (Please ignore any reflections of the screen in my window on her face; I am not a photographer!)

You can read more about the process of making this doll at my doll blog.
